Spammers lure you through false baits and get your computer seriously infected to raid your pocket. E-mail scams engulf your inbox everyday and effort to make you interested in various lucrative offers and finally leaving you monetarily screwed up. In spite of numerous awareness campaigns, people induce into such spam mails and evidently get trapped. A new and innovative scam has recently surfaced by the name of “Wrong transaction”.
The subject matter of the e-mail content goes like this- The XYZ hotel made wrong transaction. credit cards by oozing out more amounts that the price quoted for the stay and anyone facing the same issue can get their lost money refunded by filling the form by clicking on the link provided. Once the e-mail is successful in generating curiosity, you get compelled to click the attachment to verify its authenticity. As you click on the link, you are prompted to download a file called RefundForm.exe. But in reality, this malicious file is a Trojan that installs rogue antivirus program on your computer to infect it.
If you receive such mails, turn your back to it or just simply delete the imposter e-mail to safeguard your computer. Make your common sense and awareness your financial and technological shield.
